Yes. the title can be something abnormal to Nokia N96 Blog. I am writing this post just to let you know some things that are happening all around this Blog, as I said it is a review/news/posted newsletter (this last characterization is the best….I think…).
The first thing is that Nokia N96 Blog is surpassing the visits of PhoneReport, if you don’t know, PhoneReport is our brother blog, such as MyLovelyGadgets, but PhoneReport is better known all around the mobile world, it has approximately 1 year and is mainly done by Meraj (my big friend).
At the beginning of Nokia N96′s blog, we thought it couldn’t be easy to attract visitors to a blog when the main theme is just one mobile phone, but Meraj insisted and I finished agreeing with his arguments. Now it seems He was totally right, and let me remember you that the visits we are having are mainly organic.
I am not just posting to tell about this “surpassement” of PhoneReport, but also to thank you (all visitors and feed subscribers), because this growing would be impossible without you. At now our Alexa Rank is 675.605, again increasing as time goes by.
Meraj can’t appear online in this month, cause his internet limit have been reached (he is in South Africa), bu Tuesday we will have new posts and more news.
We have in our website some free ad spaces that are free and you can buy them for an unlimited time with the price we have on the contact form. You, advertiser, remember that we have more than 1000 pages views daily, a Nice Alexa ranking, more than 100 feed subscribers and Nokia N96 will be released in August. The prices will grow if our popularity grows as Nokia N96′s fame increases.
Maybe, Tuesday we will update our WordPress Blog to the version 2.5, final, the blog will not go down as this is just a fast update.
Here is another RSS button…also the BIGGEST of the world.
N96 with a Xenon flash?!

This certainly comes as a surprise to me, and we don’t know if it’s another rumour, but according to Daedalus85 at Esato forums, a Nokia representative told him that the upcoming N96 might have a little addition, which is the highly awaited Xenon flash.
I strongly doubt it, especially if the pre-production models have been reviewed and showcased at various exhibitions, and the full specifications have been released.
Xenon flash isn’t the only thing missing, we need a better battery, higher resolution, and few improvements on the camera itself.

Nokia N96 reviewed in english!

Eldar has had his mega-review of the upcoming jewel translated, of which in a previous post I chose my favourites shots.

I will present my views on the phone by the weekend, but I leave you with an excerpt of the interesting article:
”
Interestingly, over a year ago Nokia started to enhance its product portfolio not only by varying styles, but also hardware platform underpinning their solutions. The Nokia N95 and its follow-ups built upon the TI OMAP chip, while the N96 takes advantage of STMicroelectronics’s Nomadik. So when comparing these two phones, their similarities don’t go beyond physical aspects, since other things, like functionality and hardware, are quite different.
Is the N96 a mass-market solution? No. Then, is it heavily specialized, aiming at one particular niche? No. It is rather somewhere in between. This phone will see moderate sales, although the fuss around it will easily shadow its modest numbers.”

The Problem was Adtool Peel Away Ads

We were recently facing some problems in opening our webpage from Internet Explorer 7. We though the problem was related to the server and it was corrected. But, today morning I saw the error appearing again in my Internet explorer window (i don’t use regularly IE), so it was saying this:
“IE cannot open nokian96.net/…”
But the problem wasn’t related to nokian96.net page, but Adtool Peel Away ads, that are something like a second page included in the main.
I think now it is everything ok, as we removed Adtool Ads.
We also like to say to all for you that our Alexa Rank changed, we are now at 752.780 place.
Custódio, from Oportunidades de Dinheiro,a portuguese blog about money, recommended some new contact forms. So, we added them to this blog. Check this one:

Mark Guim posted an in-depth guide on how to play around with your Nokia Sports Tracker and Google Maps in order to achieve what Stavros does: Position Art.
Of course most of us aren’t as talented as Stavros, but now we can atleast give it a try.
Instructions
Step 1. Use Sports Tracker on your phone to record your location data. You can choose to run, walk, or whatever and it will record your path.
Step 2. When You are done, select ‘Upload to Service’ on the workout summary screen on your phone. The data will be uploaded to Sports Tracker online.
Step 3. On the Sports Tracker website, the route will be displayed on a map. To get this map on our blogs, we need to download the data as KML file by pressing the KML button above the map.

Eldar from Mobile-Review managed to somehow get a Nokia N96 for a review, and he gladly posted it for us, unfortunately it’s still in Russian, but for now enjoy the pictures.

Many websites report that Widsets 2.0 have been released, but is still in beta. Widsets is loved by many of a us for its looks and usability.
The Widsets 2.0 beta site recently went live which means you can now download and test the latest version of the Widsets client. New features include better integration between Widsets and the rest of the device including the ability to initiate a phone call or open a browser window. Widsets is a way to get web content on your mobile via widgetisation. Read on for more.

Widsets has been around since the summer of 2006 (but only really took off last year). It has continued to evolve at an impressive pace and the new version holds a great deal more functionality that the original version. The basic idea is presenting digestible web content optimised for consumption of a mobile device through a ‘dashboard / desktop’ and ‘widget / application’ interface. Widgets are arranged on the dashboard and each widget can be opened to view the contents. The basic Widgets are RSS feeds wrapped in an attractive package, but there are also a number of small games and utility widgets. New to this beta is the Push E-mail widget.

S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 2 fully reviewed!

Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-Review has had his mega-review of the S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 2, part of Symbian OS9.3, translated. For those of us who didn’t understand the original review, we can now enjoy the English words that so well describe the upcoming platform. Eldar used a Nokia N78 to derive screenshots and opinions. Surely the model must have been a test prototype, so we can expect changes on the release firmware.
The pictures I had posted on a past article, you can read the text here, but if you prefer to check the full review, please head over to the source.

N96 will be here in August
Everyone’s ears starting ringing when The Carphone Warehouse announced that they will start selling the Nokia N96 by August.
All we knew from Nokia is that the phone would be released in Q3, and as usual, it would arrive in most parts of the world by Q4…
