Does the N96 have the same capabilities as the iphone internet browser? In other words can you navigate just like you navigate on your PC screen?

Essays are welcome! Any longer, and I would give you a place at a blog post. If you want to discuss the N96, feel free to do it at the forum too.

yeah i totally agree with you visitor lisbon,
i've been following the same sort of track of just upgrading nokia's for the new sis e.t.c they always seem to be one step ahead of all other's and if they have not already realeased an app/program is not around no doubt u request it and some dev will make it ( or it will alrdy be out there with some searching).

i had the nokia N-gage, 6120, N95 x2 ( broke one lol) and now i got the N96 on da way for tuesday :P
but besides that any of my friends/family that ever some n say ooooo look at this new thing i got on my phone!
it's always been a reply of somthing along the lines of " bin there done that sort of thing" if not i could go and do it now with a little bit of sense.

Just to add all nokia phone are most hackable and if not you can get more or less all software/app's/programs & games for free of the net, and even ones designed for some other phones have been altered and re-compiled to work with majority of the phones, it just takes a little time to search for the app's but once you find a good secure site you can trust + gain help from stick with em and you're on a roll for anything/everything u want on ur phone!

p.s sorry for the essay like but i bin through so many different types of phone i.e siemens, sony E, Motorola, L.G( realy do not reccomend to anyone) lot's of other's and none of them match up to the nokia's! yes some have this and other's dont have this but to be honest the nokia is like an open system to all if you know what to do with it where as other phones can be very fussy

I think this question is very easy to solve. Whats your pourpose when selecting the phone? If it is just for shouwing even Motorola or Samsung have some some beautifull looking cellphones. But if you want a phone for advanced usage, my God, Iphone is just KO without even getting the chance to compete!
I have always acquired the new s60 versions of Nokia because its utilities are almost unlimited. I have found even emulators for gameboy advanced, sega megadrive (or genesis, for the americans), I have found hundreds of aplications. You can pretend you are in traffic when talking to someone, you can simply install a new music player, in my phone, i barely even use N60 standart apps. I have a DVD player on my phone, I have n N-Gage, I have an app that allows me to black list phone numbers in order to get to some people the message that my phone is off when its actualy ON. I have a spy app that takes photos to every movement made in front of the camera (with the keypad locked!!!), Hell, I have Broken Sword " for pc emulated on my Nokia! I see iphone fans talking about youtube in Iphone, damn, i already did it, in my old Nokia 6630.
Believe me, any nokia advanced user knows what im talking about.Dont let your head be tricked by the millions spent in publicity by apple.Take a ride on any symbian forums, you will see it with your own eyes.

N96 is definately the best. They both have their problems. Even with the absolute simplicity of the iphone, it crashes, applications sometimes don't open until reinstall, youtube doesn't work without 3g or wireless connection and don't even get me started on the compatibility issues with more than a single computer and itunes! I mean, what is the point?!
Compared to the nokia, for what it is, you can expect to have a couple of crashes every so often. It is slow, which is a major downer. But waiting a second or two never hurts, for ultimate entertainment! Also, the web browser is slightly fussy with some web pages, like vodafone.co.uk! The obvious uppers to this phone is the tv, the amazing n-gage and the ultimate speakers.
The iphone does have some very good features like the full internet capability, the endless list of applications, in just a few clicks; although they are sometimes costly.

Overall, for useability the iphone gets a 10, the n96 could do a lot better with 8.5. Let's face it, it's not all THAT difficult!
On entertainment value, the n96 definately gets a 10, i haven't put it down in 2 weeks, mine seems to have replaced my computer! And the iphone around 7 purely for the internet and the very simple touch screen/accelerometer games.

Both phones are exceptionally well made, and so, in the 2 and a half weeks i have had the n96, i have had my fair share of crashes but nothing major. I have used the iphone to it's limit and i have come to the conclusion that the n96 would be the Perfect phone, if it had the iphone's exterior. I.e. The huge touch screen, and simplicity. :)
