How to remove dust from the N96′s screen

Jonbaker is once again at it, and he has devised a simple way of removing all the dust that is collected on the N96′s display.
Here’s what he says at the forum.
I had a build up of dust under the screen somehow and so decided to clean it. I got the T6 and took out the 4 screws and then carefully pulled off the front cover. But I have just discovered this is not neccessary!
The screen cover actualy comes off with ease using a little tool. Nokia have one called the SRT6 and is £8 from here:

What a rip off! I went into a little phone shop where i work and got one very similar made by BAKU, (dunno who they are ) for £1
Anyhow. All you do is slide the tool in between the screen and the phones silver edge and run it up and down, this releases the catches. I started on the right hand side, then to the top, then down the left side. Once the catches are releases the front screen comes out.
Then the battle begins! Getting rid of all dust! everytime i put it back on there was a bit waving at me
Highly annoying considering the amount of films i watch on my phone. I got there in the end though.
Also, this must mean that the part is replaceable if it becomes servely scratched, i’m sure the part number is on it but i didn’t make a note of it.
The part has some sticky backing on it near the top around the ear speaker but this comes off easy and doesn’t effect it’s stability once back on.
I hope someone finds this useful if you get this problem
I’m pretty sure many will, Jon, thanks!

Note!
A Thin Fender Plectrum is what I used, a bit fiddly but didnt cost me a penny.

Brilliant – I just undid the screws and used a Stanley blade to leaver it out as others have. Worked really well just take it steady. Cant believe I put up with the dust behind the screen for nearly a year before I thought I’d goggle how to get rid of it!
