Opera Mini home page

Name: Opera Mini Version: 4.2

Description: Mobile web browser

Summary: If you haven’t heard of Opera Mini or haven’t got round to installing a different browser on your handset, now is the time to do so. Opera Mini is, as their website puts it, built for speed. It increases speed by compressing web pages by up to 90% of its original size, making your mobile browsing a pleasure.

When compared to the built-in browser on the N96, the difference is easily recognised. The layout is simple and user friendly, offering a range of settings to tweak for your preference.

One of its best features is the way it automatically adjusts the screen to fit the text displayed on the web page, reducing the need for constant scrolling. Other features include speed dial, which assigns shortcuts, and Opera link, which allows you to synchronise your bookmarks if you have Opera running on your PC. This browser is completely free and is available for download from the Opera website.

N96 campaigns ending

Nokia Portugal has released the new Nokia 5800 here in Portugal. When I checked the Nokia store in Portugal, Lisbon, I saw a complete store focused on promoting the 5800. I have not seen any poster regarding the N96. The store was covered by pink and white colours and there were some girls at the entrance of the store.

I think probably the same thing is happening in many countries. Nokia stopped promoting the Nokia N96 and began campaigns regarding the 5800.

Have you noted something similar to this? The end of the N96 campaigns and the 5800 substitution?

Below, you can check some pictures of the Nokia 5800 release at Lisbon.

Nokia N97 is coming in the next few months to the market and some videos are now being published around the web about the this Nokia cell phone. Some of those videos are not only a look trought the design of Nokia N97, bue also an exploration of the funcionalities of this new device. Indeed Nokia N97 came to substitute N96 – Only God knows if there will be an N98 our N99, but the chances are good – Who knows if 2010 will be the year of the big revelations. I image how would be a competition between the Nokia N98 and the iPhone Nano.

Well, these are only dreams. For now I selected from Youtube a nice “Nokia N97 Hands-On”. For now you can only buy Nokia N96
