Name: Seasons IV
Creator: Taief
Summary: Every now and again I enjoy a change in themes but you can spend lots of time looking for a good theme only to end up with a incompatible one or just a plane crap one. We have only posted a few themes here at NokiaN96 like Highway and Green Deluxe which are both nice themes and I think that Seasons IV belongs in this list too. I really like the simple 2D picture and the icons to go along with it. In the end of the day what I want most in a themes is a display picture thats simple and also bright and clear so that I can turn down the brightness. I have been using this theme for about two days now and I’m really enjoying the way this theme looks in the dark.
Overall: Most Themes we review on here are free and this is no exception, I really like Highway but after using this for a while I’m undecided on which one to stick with. Seasons IV has one downside and that is that the icons for some folders are a bit complex but its hardly noticeable so give it a try, It’s a nice theme trust.
Nokia N96 N-Gage review – Bounce

Name: Bounce – Bounce Boing Voyage
Genre: Adventure/Action
Summary: For anyone who have been using nokia phones for a while will have played a version or two of Bounce. I always liked it and in the days after “snake” this was my number one game, it was hard and competitive and that why it was so additive. With this latest version for the n-gage I was hoping that this version will be better or at least as addictive as the previous Bounce. Happily the game doesn’t disappoint with very easy controls and an interesting story line and it works well on the Nokia N96, the thing is that they have put a lot of depth in the game and while its all impressive I can see it getting to complicated. The story is about you as a ball who in the later levels can change into different forms and there is a big floating cube who is messing up your world so its your job to stop him.
Nokia N96 App Review – CameraFX

Name: CameraFX (2.6)
Description: manipulates photos and adds effects,
Summary: Ever Since I saw a mac and its web cam I always wanted to be able to use those effects on my PC, lucky I found an application to do that but now I want one for my N96 well now cameraFx will do that for you. I have actually found a few of these applications but all of them mad e the screen smaller and the quality of the image was horrible but this one is much better with real photo quality. Not only dose it have much better quality it also has the most amazing visual effects like tunnel, Multi-Screen, Mosaic and space tube to name a few with all different colour filters, zoom settings, outlines and mirrors. With all these options you would think it would be hard to navigate but the way wildpalm have designed the shortcuts very well and most features have shortcuts on the numbers.
Nokia N96 App Review – LightSabre
Name: LightSabre
Description: Motion Sensor App
Summary: Lightsaber was one of the first application to use the motion sensor but it only worked with the older operating systems. Now however Lightsabre works on the nokia n96, even thought this application is completely useless if has a very high fun factor. Lightsabre is an application that turns your phone into surprise surprise a lightsabre with all different sounds that are changed with different movements and you can make a striking sound by pressing any number. If your a not into playing around then stop reading now because this is purely for messing around with a mate. This new version works with all the latest phones like the N96, N97, N85, N79, 5800 so there mite a few more people with it around.
Overview: I love this application its so useless that you’ll open it when ever you come across it in you menu just for a bit of a laugh. The main reason I did a post about Lightsaber is because of the boom in motion sensor applications and as most of them are new only a few are getting updated so its nice to see this updated.
Nokia N96 App Review – Nokia Multiscanner

Name: Nokia Multi-scanner
Description: Text scanner
Summary: I have known this nokia application has been out for a while but I just thought it was more of a code reader like the one pre-installed on the N96. Nokia Multiscanner is a great analogue to digital converter and what it converts is text to well digital text i.e typed text. On its own it seems like it would only be useful to people who have to remember text or if you want to use text to send to someone. However if you take a step back and look there is so many little things you can do with Nokia Multiscanner, for one you could copy a book and get your phone to play it back or lets say you keep an address or even if you want to copy a wifi code from the bottom of the router. These are just a few ideas the potential is unlimited.
Nokia N96 Game Review – Bobba

Name: Bobba (beta)
Description: 3D virtual world,
Summary: Bobba is a first for a mobile online gaming, sure there’s n-gage arena but that all about gaming. Bobba turns your N96 into a whole world which people can get together, chat, work, party, date and meet new people. At the moment the bobba is still a beta so don’t think that this is all that this game has to offer. This N96 game is a great free game, bobba is all about designing your own location and inviting a few people around you can customize your own avatar. The location you decide to live can be modified with the construction kit and what some people have done so far is pretty unimpressive. So I would say this has some potential and could entertain for a while or just a place to talk to a mate or just some random girl.
,
Overview: While Bobba is a new concept it still lacks any sort challenge so you mite get bored of it quite quick but is a new experience. The graphics are acceptable and the game works well on the n96, it does have a few bugs with a few unexpected crashes but all was ok in the end.
Nokia N96 App Review – PowerMp3
April 14, 2009 by Patrick Campbell
Filed under Applications, Nokia, Review, S60, Software
Name: Powermp3
Description: Mp3 player
Summary: We all have music players on our N96 but are we all happy with it, it dose have a lacking amount of play-list and the play order is very basic. I reviewed another media player a month ago called “Alone MP3 Player” which is a good music player but it fell short when it came to finding music, this however is just as fluent as the on-board music player and can play just as many audio codecs. Each song can have a set mood then you get to chose what mood to play or just listen to one of its 5 default play-lists. As a n96 user I like to get the best out of my screen and powermp3 wont let you down there with its clever interface. To top it off it also has numerical shortcuts which are nice and responsive. Making your nokia n96 a much better music player than you thought possible.
Overview: I told you all of the good things now for a bit of the bad, powermp3 does not have an equalizer, yet. You can get a java version of it but its not as good and even thought it doesnt have an equalizer yet it still has a preamp.
Nokia N96 App Review – Skyfire
April 13, 2009 by Patrick Campbell
Filed under Applications, Nokia, Review, S60, Software, Symbian

Name: skyfire 0.9
Description: Mobile, Web Browser
Summary: The nokia N96 has so many features that requires the internet but even so these symbian phones don’t have the greatest web browser so here’s a replacement. Skyfire is a great little web browser which is nice and fast with a lot of helpful links and button shortcuts. Normally when any N96 user asks me what web browser to use I tell them opera mini. With this update I think its got a step or two ahead, things like facebook and twitter have now at your home page as well as the latest news stories. The shear speed of it is worth checking out its still a bit slow but its fast enough not to annoy you. The thing I think nokia n96 users will appreciate most is the integration to all other service like YouTube, hulu, BBC news ect..
Overview: When I saw a new update for this I was hoping for some new experience while web browsing and in fairness I found it but its hard to say how good it is, it dose feel as free as any other web browser and it doesn’t have the page switch that many people like. All in all great web browser I cant tell you which browser to use as it depends on how you use the Internet. I would advise anyone using a the N96 to try it out and see how they like it, it is free so you have no excuse.
Nokia N96 n-gage review – Metal Gear Solid

Name: Metal Gear Solid (MGS)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Summary: There are a lot of Nokia N96 Games and many of them are way too good. I have reviewed a game before called FB Twisted, so, If you don’t like action games, check that other game which is more arcade game for Nokia N96 and not adventure. I have always respected the MGS series but since I never owned a PlayStation I never got to own it and I was delighted when I found out that they where releasing a n-gage version. After hearing about Metal Gear Solid (MGS) I went straight to google and I found out that it had 1/3 of the original game developers which is a lot for a n-gage game and that it was going to be ground breaking. So I was looking forward to playing it allot but when I got it I was so disappointed, I guess I was expecting it too much. If you have ever played any of the MGS series then you will also be disappointed because of the lack of interaction and it seems like a level is just getting passed two or more guards. However and this is a big however anyone who hasn’t played any of the MGS series will find it a great little game, it is quick enough to load and despite all the missing interactions what they left in was pure gold. Things like hide in boxes and in lockers and peeking out is good fun and can be quite challenging.
Nokia N96 app review – Photoinbox
Name: PhotoInBox
Description: Photo sms display
Summary: This PhotoInBox is an application that will take you a year to set up and will last all of 5 minuets. Never the less its just another way to customize your phone and I’m sure any younger user will have this application right off. What PhotoInBox does is to display a picture of what ever or who ever you chose and when the designated contact send you a message it will display their picture. Its a little deeper than that for the application you can also create sms and Optimize the User-Interface, it feels like a sms base center so if anyone is big into sms which I know there’s a few should check it out.
Overview: You would need to be a big text-er to bother with PhotoInBox as it cost 11,99$ but could be worth a it, as I said it just depends on the person. I would also say that Its about time something like this came out we have been able to see callers with images and now you can have the same for sms. Give it a try because it dose have a 15 day trial so give it a go.
