Nokia N96 App Review – Lie Detector

Name: Lie Detector
Description: Lie Detector
Summary: I’m sure we all have seen these cheap lie detector toys that are just for a bit of fun, but it always sounds nice if you had a real one. Now there is a Lie Detector for your nokia n96 that will help you decided if someone is lying to you over the phone. Lie Detector in theory works but is far from perfect, Lie detector will analyse your conversation and then match your voice and remove it so it can tell if someones voice pitch changes. Leaving the only thing you have to do is remember when you asked the question. The application really only works on yes and no answer questions so it mite turn out like quite a funny call.
Overview: I tried this application but unless my girlfriend is a raisin it didn’t really work so I guess its just more of a gimmick application. I don’t think its really designed to a gimmick application but come on for a phone lie detector what exactly do you expect, also lie detector is a free application (I can’t confirm its a free application but I can’t find anywhere to buy it so it should be free) so you mite as well give it a go, it could be a good bit of fun. Nokia N96 N-gage Review – Guitar Hero

Name: Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile
Genre: Music/Action
Summary: For some reason the n-gage console feels like its dieing for quite some time so its always a good sign to see new games coming out. Guitar Hero is a very popular platform game and has been ported to devices like the IPhone so it was inevitable for some version would to be released for symbian OS. One of the greatest thing about Guitar Hero is that it uses very simple graphics and its packed the great music so it makes for a great nokia n96 game. The whole point of the game is to press the buttons in rhythm with the song, you can play both guitar and the difficulty can make turn it from a bit of fun to a seriously competitive game.
Overview: So far the reviews for this game are pretty good and there’s no obvious problems or draw backs except that it only uses three buttons. I’m not really a fan of the platform version I guess it has something to do with controllers but since there is only the keypad I think it could be a bit of fun. I really think that this game will be one of these must have games for the nokia n96 Read more
Nokia N96 Black Edition

Finally back again to provide you all with latest news and software for the nokia n96. As you all probable know the nokia N96 is a quite attractive phone and now nokia have released a all black version obviously for the people who don’t think the n96 is black enough. When I heard of this phone I thought that nokia mite have tried to improve the phone but at least on the inside but I guess its not to be. Apart from the obvious black sides the only other visual difference is the pattern on the back which I think looks worse that the original (or now know as the nokia n96 grey). I think this new colour makes the phone look a lot more badass but I personally prefer the cleaner, shinier look of the grey n96 but I can understand why people would buy the black one but its such a minimal difference that it will make too many people jealous.

Nokia N96 App Review – N Lighter
Name: N Lighter
Description: Fire Animation
Summary: I hope that lots of people take interest in this animation because it could be the start of something new. If you remember when some themes came out for the nokia n96 that used a clock animation on the screen saver it was good but this was actually the first information based screen saver for the nokia n96. N Lighter is an application that displays a flame which seems to react to movements around it but that could just be my imagination because nobody has said anything about it. The application is just a total gimmick but this gimmick comes in a .swf which is the same file type as the clock screen saver so potentially you have a really cool screen saver.
Overview: Now in all fairness it has the potential to be a really cool screen saver but it only worked right once because your have to press something to start it and when you do that the phone goes back to its normal display. I’m hoping someone creates on that starts straight away but we’ll have to see if anyone actually does. N Lighter is designed for the S60v5 but it works all the same, N Lighter is also free so you all can check it out and remember that it is a beta so it could be getting better. Read more
Nokia N96 App Review – SnappLife
August 3, 2009 by Patrick Campbell
Filed under Applications, Nokia, Review, S60, Software
Name: SnappLife
Description: Desktop and Menu
Summary: There have been a few attempt to create an application to replace the desktop and menus of the nokia n96 to a more stylish one, probably the most successful one of these is the IPhone menu. SnappLife is a new application to totally replace the standard desktop so it can add new features and widgets and more shortcuts that you can handle. SnappLife has most of the abilities of the default menu except for a few little things but really there’s everything you need. The nicest thing about the application is the menu box which is really elegant and very attractive and another thing is the widgets which are really graphic and very entertaining. The background wallpaper can be changed just like you can with the theme background.
Overview: As far as a these type of applications go SnappLife is a good one, its very interesting and easy to use. The main problem I have with SnappLife is that it is slow really slow, it doesn’t stall but its like going back to when there was no firmware on our n96 and that’s just so useless but its free so there’s no need to complain but I guess its only for the people who don’t really use there phone that much and want an easier to use desktop. Nokia N96 game Review – Defend London
August 1, 2009 by Patrick Campbell
Filed under Games, Nokia, Review, S60

Name: Defend London
Genre: WWII war/action
Summary: There are tones of new games released for the nokia n96 and even more for some other phones but many of them are crap and many of them are just too simple. Also most of the games released are in .jar file format but they are designed for less powerful phones but when games are made in .sis format they tend to have the ability to produce some detailed games. Defend London is just one of these game that I talk about and the story is all about defending England from oncoming planes, ships, guns and vehicles. You normally control a vehicle with a few guns and you have to defeat all the enemy’s before they can kill you. Really the game is a little boring but the graphics are mad saying that I really mean the background graphics are mad but it makes for a good game.
Overview: If I had to compare this and any n-gage game about half the time I would say this is a better game. A lot of people say that n-gage is lame and I didn’t really share their view until this game. Most n-gage games cost about £4 or £5 but this game is only 3 Euro so you all can enjoy this very nice game for the price. The one thing that you should make sure of is to turn the graphics to full to get the best effect. Read more
