Nokia N96 Theme Review – Solstice

Name: Solstice

Creator: PiZero

Summary:It’s all about personal preference when it comes to themes, some people like simple plane themes and others like detailed and interesting themes. Personally I like a bit of a detailed theme but it still has to be neat and simple and those kind of themes don’t come around that often but there are many themes that come close, like this one. Solstice uses some of the nicest colours that I have ever seen, I cant really put it any better than that. Solstice has a very nice icon set  but they don’t really make the theme look any better, probably because the background image is so good.

Overview: When I fist saw this theme I new now good it looked but I never thought it would look this calm and simple, so I love it and will probably keep it until a better one comes around. Solstice is made by PiZero so you should know by now that means it has quality and like all the themes its free so it’s for everyone that wants to try it. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Neon Red

Summary: It’s sunday again and before you go back to work or what ever your doing its time to change the theme of your nokia N96. I thought it would be a good idea to check out some other big players in the theme game and what I came up with is Blue_Ray, you can find all their themes at www.brthemes.com. Neon Red is in my opinion one of the nice themes even thought its not their highest rated theme. Neon Red has a nice background and has its own icons which in fairness aren’t that great, but the overall theme is pretty attractive.

Overview: Blue_Ray have some nice themes if you don’t like this one you mite like some of their others but I just don’t really like their icons because they are so boring. As all our themes Neon Red is free and worth a look for a few days but I don’t think i’ll be able to keep it for that long. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Fabric

Creator: ToXic

Summary: The nokia N96 has been out for about 1 year now depending on where you live and in my opinion its carried the year well except that does react a bit differently when you have more applications installed. The only real way to get rid of all the applications is to do a hard reset which isn’t recommended any thing else you do will keep your applications, unless you delete each application one by one but that’s not perfect. Anyway if your have done something like that or are planning to then its all ways nice to have a nice new theme. Fabric is a new theme from one of the top creators ToXic, Fabric is a strange theme because the background looks like a luxury wallpaper but I just can’t understand why I like it. Fabric comes with custom icons that you would have probably seen on some other themes, still it all looks great as a package.

Overview: I realise I didn’t really say that much about the theme but there’s not much more I can say. Fabric is a sweet looking theme that’s free and is a bit different than some others because of the continuous pattern but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you don’t like this theme check out this one by toxic Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Ovi

Summary: It’s been a while since I posted any theme and I just happened to find this, PiZero’s latest theme. If you have followed some of PiZero’s themes you would know how high he is in the theme creator world so his latest theme for the nokia N96 should be great. The first impression I got from Ovi was that the background is very tidy but a bit on the dull side, then when you go into the menu that doesn’t matter because you can see how perfect it looks plain. Ovi comes with a brand new set of icons which fit in perfectly with design of the background.

Overview: Really I don’t think this is PiZero’s best work, I think its missing the artistic side of themes, just a little too clinical. That doesn’t mean its a bad theme, it only takes one look to see how good it is and its been out for just over a day and its had about 3,000 downloads so I’m sure lots of people will like it. Ovi is a free theme so you can all enjoy this great theme. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Fear

Creator: Xavier

Summary: All my days and times are a bit hectic at the moment but hopefully it will be sorted out my the end of the week. Anyway I saw this a day ago and thought it was worth a post so here it is. Fear is the latest theme from Xavier for the nokia N96 and from the outside it looks like another stunning theme with custom icons. One feature which I don’t thing Xavier intended is that this is one of the best themes for dealing with high amounts of light some themes become completely illegible but this theme just soaks in the light making it easy to see any menu or option. Fear is a nice theme the background image is nice and in the dark look really interesting and even though there is custom icons most of them seem the same as the default but in the end is a nice theme.

Overview: I always look forward to what themes mite come out in the future this theme justifies waiting for a new theme because fear is well worth checking out. As all our themes this one is free and you can download the theme both with and without the icons from the link below. All thanks should go to Xavier for creating this great theme and I can’t wait to see whats coming next. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Blue Zap

Creator: Gaurav Live

Summary: I’m still a day late but I guess that doesn’t really mater anyway here’s this weeks theme. Blue Zap is a new theme for the nokia N96 but its nothing really that special. Blue Zap does have custom icons which are very detailed but maybe its a little to complicated and the menu looks very cluttered but the wallpaper is great and very calm and smooth looking. There’s one thing this theme has that I haven’t seen before is different colour text, for example the middle bottom text is black and the rest are white. Really its a good theme if you have high standards.

Overview: Well its free, comfortable , calm and it wont go wrong so its a good theme to throw on your phone but to me it doesn’t really impress me in anyway so I think it won’t last that long.  Earlier I said the icons where custom but there not really they are move a just an adjustment of the original icons. The creator has created a few themes but this is one of his best. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Floral

Summary: A day later than what I normal do but anyway Floral is my theme for the nokia N96 this week and for good reason too. The first thing that hit me when I saw Floral is how bright and lively it is and the whole playful, vibrant feel is really fresh. Floral has it’s one icon set which are very close to the default but they are still very in keeping with the theme. I also really like the signal and battery symbols which are like lighting and also the text is red which is new and it looks pretty good. The one thing I tend to have a problem with themes like this is the brightness, I find it a little over powering but its still a nice new theme.

Overview: I found this theme very interesting because its a bit different from then norm and even though it’s a little busier than some other themes. As all our themes this one is free but I didn’t find any copy without the icons but that really doesn’t matter. Anyway its a nice upbeat theme that will probably get a good bit of attention but its not that special. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Water Drops

Summary: The weekend is here again and with the summer sun, I thought it would be good to have a nice cool theme. Water Drops is a new theme that looks a little different first thing that’s different is the wallpaper which if I’m honest I don’t really like, it looks too artificial or something. When you go into the menu everything starts to work, both the wallpaper and icons work really well with the different colours making the nokia N96’s screen look really lively. The icons need another quick note because they look really professional and I’m not sure that there is many icon sets out there that look better than these. There’s only one thing in this theme that’s better than the icons and that is the selected box and information box which look really nice with a white box around the outside.

Overview: I’m in two minds about this theme one is that the wallpaper is a bit cluttered but on the other hand everything else is perfect there’s just no other word for it. As all our themes are free this is no exception and I’m probably going to enjoy using it for a while and I think overall it is one of my favorites. You can also download this theme with the default icons but I didn’t like it so I’m going to put the full one in the download link. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Nubes

Name: Nubes

Creator: NaHiD

Summary: As another Sunday comes and goes its time once again for a theme and this time it’s a theme created by a less known creator NaHiDNubes is a totally different style of theme, most themes try to be clean and clear but as you can see Nubes is a very out of focus. Nubes which makes the phone quite strange to look at, it’s hard to make up my mind I have lots of mixed feelings about it but I think after a while it will get quite boring. However Nubes has a great redeeming feature and that is its icons which are great and I have never seen icons with this amount of detail. With all considered I think Nubes is a good theme it may not be to everyone’s taste but you still should check it out.

Overview: From the icons alone I think this theme is worth it or you could take them out and use them on a different theme but I don’t like to do that. The whole time I was using this theme I couldn’t help but think NaHiD knew what they where doing so my guess is that in the future they will come up with some really good themes. Of course Nubes is free and you can download either with the icons or with out but you would have to be crazy to want it with out so I won’t put in the link for it. Read more
