Nokia N96 Theme Review – Ovi

Summary: It’s been a while since I posted any theme and I just happened to find this, PiZero‘s latest theme. If you have followed some of PiZero‘s themes you would know how high he is in the theme creator world so his latest theme for the nokia N96 should be great. The first impression I got from Ovi was that the background is very tidy but a bit on the dull side, then when you go into the menu that doesn’t matter because you can see how perfect it looks plain. Ovi comes with a brand new set of icons which fit in perfectly with design of the background.

Overview: Really I don’t think this is PiZero’s best work, I think its missing the artistic side of themes, just a little too clinical. That doesn’t mean its a bad theme, it only takes one look to see how good it is and its been out for just over a day and its had about 3,000 downloads so I’m sure lots of people will like it. Nokia N96 Theme Review – Water Drops

Summary: The weekend is here again and with the summer sun, I thought it would be good to have a nice cool theme. Water Drops is a new theme that looks a little different first thing that’s different is the wallpaper which if I’m honest I don’t really like, it looks too artificial or something. When you go into the menu everything starts to work, both the wallpaper and icons work really well with the different colours making the nokia N96‘s screen look really lively. The icons need another quick note because they look really professional and I’m not sure that there is many icon sets out there that look better than these. There’s only one thing in this theme that’s better than the icons and that is the selected box and information box which look really nice with a white box around the outside.

Overview: I’m in two minds about this theme one is that the wallpaper is a bit cluttered but on the other hand everything else is perfect there’s just no other word for it. As all our themes are free this is no exception and I’m probably going to enjoy using it for a while and I think overall it is one of my favorites. Nokia N96 Theme Review – Dreamscene

Summary: As it it Sunday and everyone’s sitting back enjoying the forumula1 and not creating applications so I thought that this is a nice time to change themes. Dreamscene is a clean theme for the Nokia N96 created by one of the best Theme creators in the business and this is one of the nicer ones out there. The nicest thing about this theme is the light and how it gets darker at the top and how well the clock looks. You can tell straight away that this is a professional theme by the icons which suit the phone quite well but there is other versions in the download that don’t have the icons. What I will say is that this theme isn’t exactly for practicality more for style, all the same its a great theme that you should check out

Overview: There’s one or two things some people mite find annoying is how dark it is, although I thing it adds to the style of the theme. Another thing that mite put people off is the icons because they are quite nice just not as eloquent or as relevant as the default icons. As all our themes here this is free and I would also like to the the people at Xavier for doing such a wonderful job and if you don’t like this one I’m sure Xavier have some theme that you’ll like. Nokia n96 Theme Review – Highway

Summary: We have been reviewing nice themes here at Nokia N96 and this is one more theme for your Nokia N96 smartphone, like Green Deluxe, and our friends at Nokia N86 have also been reviewing nice themes both for Nokia N96 and Nokia N86. Everybody wants there phone to look different every now and again but finding a nice them can take a bit of time. Well here’s my recent favorite one at the moment, usually I like themes with nature but this caught my eye. Obviously its a digital image and that could put a few people off, which is fine and no matter what your taste alfa has probably created one to suit you. Anyway this them looks very nice and clear its a bit busy in the background but that’s just more to look at. This also come with a very nice set of icons which suits must application well.

Overview: I can understand that our users would want to see the time when their phone is locked but that should limit down their themes choice. If you still what to see the time from say cClock or any of the other clock themes the all you have to do is apply that themes screen saver file which is a .swi (or something close to that).

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Green Deluxe

Theme Name: Green Deluxe

Summary: Unless you are very young, a decent theme is hard to come by in my opinion. I’m not a fan of tacky images that are the feature of many themes, instead, I like something a bit more plain or classy. Usually, I’ll just go for a straight black theme but this one really caught my eye.

Black is a colour that goes well with most bright colours and Valepunto has come up with a superb theme that gives you a great shade of green on top of my favourite black! The idle screen, as you can see, has a dotted wave type pattern that looks great on the N96.

Icons can be chosen as default (which I always prefer) or custom depending on the download you chose. You can view the custom icons on the download page.

This theme is free and there are other great themes by Valepunto at his website, but, from what I can make out, a small donation is required for his latest work.
