The N96 has so many features inside. But to give the word “smartphone” more meaning, then the following applications are really needed
Fring
Fring enables the N96 to make cheap mobile calls and chat with your “buddies” but it uses your data plan or a wi-fi connection. Something better is Skype but unfortunately, the N96 doesn’t have a version made for it.
iSync
iSync is a one of the important must-have application for the Mac users wanting to synchronize their N96 devices with their pc’s

Night Effect or…N96?

The Samsung Armani Night Effect is now on sale in the UK from 9th January this year. Samsung remains trying to get territory to Nokia and the new Armani phone might directly competes with the best Nokia cell phones. It happened with P520 an now it’s the “night effect” phone (M7500).
In a first glance the Night Effect might seem to be a simple low-end user mobile phone for Emporio Armani fanatics, but when we have a closer look we understand the words “Night Effect” and how great is this phone. This device has a OLED screen which shows the colors more similar to reality than N96 and surrounding the screen it has a light that produces that “night effect”. The user is able to set the light color and also it’s related functions.
Lets see the mobile phone features:
- 2.2? QVGA screen
- 3.2 Megapixel Camera
- Music Hot keys
- 3G Equipped
- Bluetooth Connectivity
- Media player with Video Recorder
- FM Radio
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
Do you think a 3.2 megapixel camera is able to make the Emporio Armani fight for a place against N96? Or simply they act throught different market segments?

N96 not released! Was it a lie?

Not at all… We were really confident that the release date was going to be 7th May. Turns out that we were maybe too optimistic. Truth is that we had a media launch that day, but that was it, not a shipping date or a retail date. Although in this conference with Nokia we managed to dig the true shipping date, or should I say…shipping week?
N96 live pictures and hands-on notes
At the right N96 N81 8GB, and at the left the N81 8GB N96. It’s not just the display that’s bigger, but there are few minor changes in cosmetics on the front. The keys are slightly separated, and the multimedia key is smaller. The navi-wheel is made thinner and higher so that it feels good to the finger.
N96 will ship with Transformers
Today at the launch in South Africa, Nokia stated in a press release that the Nokia N96 will ship to South Africa with the latest Transformers movie embedded in the devices’ memory.

The great thing about Nokia is that they communicate well with people, and especially with bloggers. With the Nokia Conversations website many people can get an insight at what Nokia is doing, instead of reading press releases.
This time they interviewed Daniel Dhondt, who is the designer of the N96. Enjoy the video interview:
