Nokia N96 Theme Review – Blue Zap

Name: Blue Zap

Summary: I’m still a day late but I guess that doesn’t really mater anyway here’s this weeks theme. Blue Zap is a new theme for the nokia N96 but its nothing really that special. Blue Zap does have custom icons which are very detailed but maybe its a little to complicated and the menu looks very cluttered but the wallpaper is great and very calm and smooth looking. There’s one thing this theme has that I haven’t seen before is different colour text, for example the middle bottom text is black and the rest are white. Really its a good theme if you have high standards.

Overview: Well its free, comfortable , calm and it wont go wrong so its a good theme to throw on your phone but to me it doesn’t really impress me in anyway so I think it won’t last that long.  Earlier I said the icons where custom but there not really they are move a just an adjustment of the original icons. Nokia N96 Theme Review – Floral

Name: Floral

Summary: A day later than what I normal do but anyway Floral is my theme for the nokia N96 this week and for good reason too. The first thing that hit me when I saw Floral is how bright and lively it is and the whole playful, vibrant feel is really fresh. Floral has it’s one icon set which are very close to the default but they are still very in keeping with the theme. I also really like the signal and battery symbols which are like lighting and also the text is red which is new and it looks pretty good. The one thing I tend to have a problem with themes like this is the brightness, I find it a little over powering but its still a nice new theme.

Overview: I found this theme very interesting because its a bit different from then norm and even though it’s a little busier than some other themes. As all our themes this one is free but I didn’t find any copy without the icons but that really doesn’t matter. Anyway its a nice upbeat theme that will probably get a good bit of attention but its not that special. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Nubes

Name: Nubes

Creator: NaHiD

Summary: As another Sunday comes and goes its time once again for a theme and this time it’s a theme created by a less known creator NaHiD. Nubes is a totally different style of theme, most themes try to be clean and clear but as you can see Nubes is a very out of focus. Nubes which makes the phone quite strange to look at, it’s hard to make up my mind I have lots of mixed feelings about it but I think after a while it will get quite boring. However Nubes has a great redeeming feature and that is its icons which are great and I have never seen icons with this amount of detail. With all considered I think Nubes is a good theme it may not be to everyone’s taste but you still should check it out.

Overview: From the icons alone I think this theme is worth it or you could take them out and use them on a different theme but I don’t like to do that. The whole time I was using this theme I couldn’t help but think NaHiD knew what they where doing so my guess is that in the future they will come up with some really good themes. Of course Nubes is free and you can download either with the icons or with out but you would have to be crazy to want it with out so I won’t put in the link for it. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Severity

Name: Severity

Creator: Xavier

Summary: Severity another Theme created by Xavier which means straight away you know that its going to be a nice theme for your Nokia N96. Severity has a its own unique look which is very eliguent and gives the n96 a classic look. The thing I like most about Severity is the colour of the text which is grey but its not only that it makes the whole display looks like a messy notepad but the look works really well. The icons are the same as the last theme I posted called “DreamScene” but they dont have to be installed if you don’t like them. What I like about Severity is how the display doesn’t look like a phone. The other thing that I really like about the theme is when you highlight a folder in changes the text white and the background of the folder gray .

Overview: It’s sunday so i thought a few people would like a new theme to show off around work or two a few mates but I didn’t think I was going to like Severity as much as I do. Also If you do like this remember was created by Xavier so make sure all the credit go to him. Severity is free and a very nice theme so I would try it out. Read more

Nokia N96 Theme Review – Scenery

Name: Scenery

Summary: It’s time again for another Theme change for the N96 I think but I have a bit of a different reason which I’ll explain later. The last theme I posted “Leopard” had one problem and that was the colour of the text was white and using the phone every now and again you would come across a message where you can’t see the text. Scenery doesn’t have this problem what it does have is a seriously bright, clean and clear wallpaper with nice contrasting colours that really make folders and text stand out. The thing with this Theme is that it doesn’t have any custom icons so you can tell it’s not that professional but its still nice.

Overview: The main reason I wanted to change my theme because my screen got a crack but its a weird crack, even so its a nice theme that’s exactly what you expect from a theme but you can’t help thinking there are better themes out there. Nokia N96 Theme Review – Leopard

Name: Leopard

Creator: PiZero

Summary: I’m sure you can all recognise this as being the default mac theme, since the latest firmware update the phone feels fresh and new and this them is just the theme to help express that feeling. First thing that should be noted with this theme is the creator Pizero is a dedicated theme design company. Second you should note the icons because they are very friendly and aesthetically pleasing and add to smooth feeling. Third is exactly how good the background image is and it’s the only them that looks as good in landscape as well as portrait.

Overview: I am a bit of a mac fan but only for their software, they are little pirates when it comes ot hardware but anyway this them mixes what I like with what I love(n96), The only problem that I can see with this theme is that maybe its a little too dark for some people. If you don’t like the icons then the is a version without them and they are both free so pick this one up if its your thing. Read more

Nokia n96 Theme Review – Highway

Summary: We have been reviewing nice themes here at Nokia N96 and this is one more theme for your Nokia N96 smartphone, like Green Deluxe, and our friends at Nokia N86 have also been reviewing nice themes both for Nokia N96 and Nokia N86. Everybody wants there phone to look different every now and again but finding a nice them can take a bit of time. Well here’s my recent favorite one at the moment, usually I like themes with nature but this caught my eye. Obviously its a digital image and that could put a few people off, which is fine and no matter what your taste alfa has probably created one to suit you. Anyway this them looks very nice and clear its a bit busy in the background but that’s just more to look at. This also come with a very nice set of icons which suits must application well.

Overview: I can understand that our users would want to see the time when their phone is locked but that should limit down their themes choice. If you still what to see the time from say cClock or any of the other clock themes the all you have to do is apply that themes screen saver file which is a .swi (or something close to that).

Nokia N96 theme: Colourfull by NaHiD

Mike Macias brings us a theme with icons from S60 5th edition, it’s called Colourfull, it’s made by NaHiD, and has an icon pack built by Flahorn.

The theme has colours of red to yellow, reminding us of the sunset, and the wallpaper looks like an equaliser from Windows Media Player.

Mike noted a small bug with the theme, in which you cannot see dates on the calendar without highlighting them.
