screenshot0122Name: Age of Empires III (AoE)

Genre:  Strategy

Summary: The AoE series has been going on for ages and it has finally been released for the Nokia N96 and is a welcome addition to the N-gage platform. Many of the other AoE games where notorious for being the greatest strategy games on low powered computers so if any game was to make a good  strategy game for the N96 and N-gage its AoE. First thing you notice about the game is the graphics which look exactly like AoE II, second you’ll notice how smoothly it runs which didn’t dip even with a lot going on. The Demo is quite limited so I’m not sure how many buildings there are but I’m sure there is more than the 4 you get to play with. The button controls are well placed but the directional pad takes a bit of getting used to.

Overview: In fairness I think this is the best they are going to be able to do as far as a strategy game for N-gage, even thought there are a few little things that a just taken away that makes the game too easy I found. I think that its an interesting game and will be quite popular all over the market. One thing that works nicely for this game is that it has a high tempo so your never waiting. I don’t know how good the really game is but the demo just isn’t convincing enough which is really annoying because this game has potential. Read more

screenshot0107Name: Animated SmS

Description: SmS Utility,

Summary: The digital age has brought new slang and with that in mind developers have been updating all these different types of applications to produce slang. Animated SmS is the latest in emotions and animated images for n96 users. The Application itself has great support and many download-able extras and because its an update to application you know that it will be updated regularlyAnimated SmS works well and feels like the original nokia SmS Application and the Animations are nicely detailed, the end result is a very professional feeling Sms Tool.

Overview: What I like best about this application is that it has no icon in the applications menu its just a different option when creating a Sms (check screenshot). The application cost $9.99 and will only appeal to people actually use Animated images and emotions, a trial is available but it only last 2 days. With the amount of support e.g dedicated website I’m sure some will enjoy. Read more

Name: Salling Clicker

Description: Remote Control software

Summary: There has been many diferent software that aim to connect and control your computer with your nokia n96. Not all the software I tested worked well or even at all but this worked like a charm with simple installation and configuration. The greatest thing about this software over others is that this can use both wifi and blue-tooth and both work with minimal delay. Salling Clicker is award wining software from salling and its quite easy to see why it won, the controls are very simple and can control anything from volume to the media player and even the mouse. So whether you are just wanting something to control your music or if you are displaying a presentation over a projector and you want go to the next frame without going to your pc then this application is the best one, in my opinion.

Overview: Best remote control for your phone and with most applications of this type tend to have have lots more trouble connecting  to the pc but this worked nice a and quickly. All this greatness comes at a cost of $23.95 but dose come with a free trail that limits the amount of button presses down to 30 and when that’s up the application restarts. To install this application on your phone you have to first install an application on your PC and from there it will give you a step by step guide to how set up and where you can get the .SIS file.
